All measurements in inches please. The tape measure should be pulled snug, but not so tight that you can't fit two fingers underneath it.
As you are taking the 8 following measurements make sure that the measuring tape is parallel to the floor.
Around the body at the belly button. Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor.
Around the body just below the armpits. Make sure that the tape measure is parallel to the floor.
Around the body right over the hip bone, approximately 3-4 inches above the lower hip measurement.
Around the body over the fullest part of the buttocks, at crotch level.
Around the leg 1 inch below crotch level.
4 inches below the upper thigh measurement.
Over the knee cap.
From armhole seam to armhole seam on a closely fitting shirt across the front, midway between the shoulder and the armpit.
From armhole seam to armhole seam across the back, midway between the shoulder and armpit.
From side of the neck at the top of your shoulder, all the way under the crotch to the SAME SPOT on the side of the neck. This will usually be longer than your tape measure. Tape should be pulled snug, but not uncomfortably tight.
From the crotch to the top of the heel of your stage footwear on, or 1 inch from the ground. Make sure that the measuring tape starts as high up as you can get in your crotch.
From the side of the neck to the underarm string in the front.
From the side of the neck to the underarm string in the back.
From side of neck to where hips are measured down the front.
From side of the neck to where the hips are measured down the back.
Around the arm at the most muscular part, fully flexed.
From tip of shoulder to wrist.
From the side of the neck to the top of the sleeve.
Arms outstretched fingertip to fingertip.
Taken at the base of the neck - this should be the same as the collar size on your shirts, but check for yourself.
Measured around armhole from the shoulder point to underarm and around to the same point again. Your tape should be held snug, but not tight. You should be able to still move your arm around without restriction while measuring.
